**Please note that the HPWC Staff Training is taking place July 27 at 5:00pm to July 30 at 12 Noon. Successful staff applicants should plan to attend this important training to more effectively serve in their roles at camp this summer. Staff Training for Summit Mountain Camp is still being determined.
POSITIONS: (Choose 3 and put in order of preference): Head/Assistant Cook, Teepee Leader, Wrangler, Colt Leader, Camp Coordinator, or Trail Boss (If applying for Trail Boss, further requirements apply).If you are applying to work at Summit Mountain Camp, you can just put "Wrangler" or "Teepee Leader", as staff work together in all the roles due to our small staff team.

REFERENCES:
Supply the contact information for 2 -3 people (pastor/youth pastor, employer/ teacher or Christian adult) you know well for at least a year, are at least 25 years of age, and who have agreed to act as a reference for you. Please supply name, phone number (with area code), email address and nature of relationship.

REGARDING YOUR ABILITY TO WORK WITH CHILDREN:In order to provide a safe and secure environment for campers, we believe it is necessary to ask the following questions as part of our application process. All information will be kept in confidence by the camp’s leadership team and will not be disclosed by the camp unless required by law. Please answer YES or NO to the questions. Answering “yes” may not necessarily prevent you from volunteering with the camp.
HORSE EXPERIENCE:A distinctive of J2K Ministries is our focus on spending time with our horses. Staff at HPWC can expect to go on Trail Rides lasting from 3-5 hours. Wranglers will accompany all rides, while other staff will take turns to ensure there are enough horses for the campers.All staff at SCM are expected to be comfortable with horses, including saddling/unsaddling, riding in hilly terrain, and confident in basic riding skills. Rides at SMC are anywhere from 4-8 hours by the time we leave and return to camp.

CRIMINAL RECORD CHECK PROCESS:It is the policy of J2K Ministries to require a Criminal Record Check (CRC) from all our staff prior to being accepted for a volunteer position working with youth. You will be provided with a letter from Director Aaron Harbidge requesting that the RCMP waive the usual Record Check Fee.Failure to submit a completed CRC or Vulnerable Sector Check prior to the start of camp may result in the rejection of your application. J2K Ministries reserves the right to refuse any staff member a position on our team if their CRC and Vulnerable Sector Check is not submitted by the start of camp.
